The AMD update is focused on UEFI CPPC2, or in practical terms, AMD’s preferred core feature. One fix comes from AMD, while you can obtain the other through Windows Update.

Another weird thing: Adrenalin with the 22.5.1 version installed - claims there'sNO newer update O_o despite the official amd page RECOMMENDS version 22.11.2, which is clearly newer, so it's confusing.īut on top of 22.5.1 I was able to install 22.11.2 correctly (i guess).Īnd after all these I was easily hide/exclude the corresponding AMD driver from windows update with the tool (thanks!)ĭear OP, thanks for the fix, YOU are a true hero!Īnd I hope i could help anyone with similar difficulties during the process.A day after Windows 11 launched, AMD posted a notice about two severe bugs that could tank performance as much as 15%. Sooo i downloaded the earlier version of it - 22.5.1 to name it - and installed it without any problems. I honestly tried to install itt a few times after each other, even with along proper safe mode uninstallation, but - all the time during the installations the installer wizard said something like "uninstalling adrenalin software" and I though "what? Y tho?" and then the adrenalin sofware never installed/appeared. The uninstallation went good, but there is some weird sht going on around AMD's, because as of now the current recommended AMD Adrenalin Sofware is 22.11.2, which will NEVER EVER gonna install correctly on my machine - i dunno why. Well, i made a long run, but somehow now it's working.

So now since I got this new board (asus prime b450 aii) it's not allowing update any of the drivers I select amd Radeon 22.11.1, 22.5.1 and even the 2019 edition. So I would be forced to use the 2019 version of the driver. When ever I would try to update further it would revert back and show the caution ⚠️ next to the driver in device manager. I would only be able to run it on the 2019 version driver with Radeon software. So let me go back a bit from I had this card (msi rx570) I've always had an issue with updating it. I also tried both of those methods while not connected to the internet aswell.

I tried uninstalling with amd cleanuputility and reinstalling Radeon software. (Also with windows driver installations automatically stopped) (I paused windows update/stop the windows update service aswell) still no change. Uninstalling with DDU and then installing Radeon software. I have tried so many solutions since then but still no luck. I have been having this problem since I rebuilt my PC two days ago, I had to change the motherboard prior to this issue. If Windows Update has newer drivers published, this may crop up again but I haven't experienced that (yet). You’re done! Windows Update will not override the latest AMD drivers you have installed. Select the generic AMD display drivers and hide them so Windows will never try to install them. Run the Windows Update Show or Hide troubleshooter. Once it starts downloading them, pause Windows Updates again (don’t let it install them). It will find the generic AMD display drivers and start to download them. ĭownload Windows Update Show or Hide (it’s not an installer, just download the file to run in a later step).

Restart.ĭownload the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin installer from AMD’s support website. Uninstall AMD Radeon Software from the system control panel. Here is the AMD article for reference (but don't follow their steps to resolve): The issue is caused by Windows Update overwriting the AMD display drivers with older versions.ĪMD's article on this issue temporarily resolved it, but it came back within a week due to Windows Update overwriting the AMD drivers again. If you have run into this issue, then here is how I've fixed it.
